2015-05-12 | Dear JCPS Was Born

On May 12, 2015, I quietly purchased the domain name and sent my first test email. I also started a Facebook page inviting people to join our efforts.

A few days later, I received an email from an acquaintance who was very influential in the PTA system, as President of the PTA at the most influential high school in the district and state. She was supportive of the website, but addressed me as Lynne, another acquaintance who seemed to share the same realizations and concerns as I had.

I replied to her email with the following.

I didn’t think anything about it at the time, but she never replied to me. This person will play a role in the future, so just hang onto that. The proposed standing rules changes were something I referred to as “the Gay Adelmann clause” because it had eight things PTA Board Members couldn’t do, and they were all things I had done recently.
