Resolution to Support the People’s Agenda

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Coalition leaders had their first opportunity to share community concerns with Dr. Pollio since July 16.

Chief among these reasonable demands is a Resolution to Support the People’s Agenda. The People’s Agenda is a working document that provides a seat at the table for Black JCPS students and their families, as well as Black educators in JCPS.

An example of a similar resolution was passed in June in Berkley Schools.

On August 31, during one of the Kentucky Alliance Education Committee’s weekly Zoom meetings, former JCPS Board member and current Kentucky House Representative Lisa Willner joined the call to share the behind-the-scenes details that led to the district introducing and passing a Safe Haven Resolution in 2017.
